    Wintery

So the other day I had extra calories in my daily meals and the day before that, New Years Day, was a complete calorie fest blow-out. Not wanting to reverse my weight loss so early in the New Year I though of what I could possibly do on a late winter afternoon. It was already getting dark outside and temps were finally dipping to seasonal lows. My planned walk around the hood wasn't appealing anymore.

So I went to my room, closed the door, popped my phone into it's cradle, cranked up the speakers, tuned my Pandora radio to the workout station....and danced like a crazy happy fool

  • A Little Halloweeny Rant

    1. Un-costumed adults need to stop pimping out their costumed infants for candy. I know your infant is too young to be eating candy so clearly it's all for mommy and daddy to gobble up. Not cool.
    2. If you are a tween or teen who feels too cool for costumes and cool enough to start smoking cigarettes maybe it's also time to cut the trick-or-treat routine out of your life. It is scary that you are smoking though...
    3. If you are an underage girl lingerie is NOT a Halloween costume. Neither is a skimpy school girl outfit. Parents if you knowingly let your daughter out like that, SHAME! Again scary if you think about it.
    4. If your entire entourage of trick-or-treaters, parents down to the wee ones, is in various stages of morbid obesity for your sake I hope you're using this as an excuse to exercise as a family and will dump the candy in the trash. Scary.
    5. And a minor gripe to finish off the list. If the house is completely unadorned for Halloween that means trick-or-treaters are not welcome. It's good courtesy and good candy hunting strategy to skip the house entirely instead of standing there for twenty minutes ringing the door bell.

  • Ramblings instead of doing homework...

it's quite late and homework has completely boggled my mind. So I will simply take a little break to ramble on about current life events. I've been living quite the relaxed life style. Attending school at a pretty campus. Taking a few classes I actually enjoy. Going to the gym to work off summer's excesses. I get to volunteer some of my time working with senior citizens and then another bit of time with little kids. Don't know which population yields the better stories. With nearly four weekend days I get plenty of time to spend with family, friends, and s.o.
Wondering if next fall I will transition smoothly into graduate school. Before then I of course have to stop procrastinating and do the horrid application process for quite a few schools, everyone including myself thinks this is the year I will actually be accepted. So onwards and upwards. Goodnight.
